Middle Sister is part of the Three Sisters volcanic peaks located in the Cascade Range in Oregon. Originally named “Faith, Hope and Charity”, the peaks are now known as North Sister, Middle Sister and South Sister. As its name would suggest, Middle Sister is situated between North and South Sister in terms location and also geologic age. Although it is shortest of the three, it offers great views at the summit of its sisters and Mount Hood. Over time the mountain’s shape has been altered by glacial activity—including the Hayden and Diller glaciers—which continues to affect the eastern side.
